Richard Earle joined Field Fisher Waterhouse in 2004. He
has a wide and varied practice covering clinical negligence and personal injury across the spectrum ranging from
cases of maximum severity, such as cerebral
palsy, obstetric negligence to
oncology, ophthalmic, general and plastic surgery as well as claims
against GPs. Richard is a member of both the AvMA and the Law
Society's Clinical Negligence Panels and a Senior Litigator of the
Association of Personal Injury
Lawyers.
Examples of work include:
- Settling a claim for £1m damages + periodical payments (overall
value £2.25m) where a boy suffered brain damage prior to and during
his delivery and was left with dyskinetic and athetoid cerebral palsy
- Settled a medical negligence claim
for £130,000 where a man admitted to an A&E ward died following
failure to act on the fact that his airway was partially
obstructed
- Settling a personal injury claim for
£250,000 a man died as a result of another person’s driving
negligence.
- Settling a claim for £125,000 damages where a patient was
diagnosed incorrectly and underwent unnecessary surgery on leaving
her with recurrent aches and pains as well as emotional
distress
